Swedish Massage

When we think of massage most people think of the Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration, and tapping. It is a lighter massage and very helpful for relaxation and to be energized. The easy strokes of the Swedish massage can help with stress relief and even accessing deep meditative states.

Most people can benefit from Swedish massage. However, massage may not be appropriate if you have:

  • Bleeding disorders or take blood-thinning medication

  • Burns or healing wounds

  • Deep vein thrombosis

  • A very low platelet count (severe thrombocytopenia)
